June Student of the Month: Violeta Lemoh

June’s Student of the Month is Apprentice Company dancer Violeta Lemoh. Violeta is in the 7th grade at Dana Middle School, and has been dancing at San Pedro Ballet School for four years. She has performed in San Pedro City Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker as a Party Scene Boy and Girl, Angel, Chinese, and Snow.

San Pedro City Ballet: What is your favorite memory associated with SPCB?

Violeta Lemoh: My favorite memory from the San Pedro City Ballet was taking Misty Copeland’s master class.

SPCB: How does dance affect other aspects of your life?

VL: Dance helps me discipline myself in the real world, and it also helps me just detach myself from my worries and just live in the moment.

SPCB: Why do you like to dance?

VL: I love to dance because it is my passion and it keeps me excited throughout the day, and it will hopefully be my profession as I grow older.

SPCB: What is your favorite dance that you have been a part of?

VL: My favorite dance that I have been a part of is Patrick Bradley’s company piece from Dancing Through the Decades, which has let me put my emotions into the dance, which I personally feel will make me a stronger dancer.

SPCB: What do you like to do in your spare time?

VL: In the little spare time I have, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, playing the piano, drawing, watching movies, and exploring nature.

Congratulations, Violeta on being chosen as Student of the Month!
